Adrian Bartholomew
If you ever find yourself on the beautiful island of Trinidad and visit the esteemed Queens Hall, the historic concert performance hall, you will see Sean Adrian Bartholomew on its wall of fame. The only pianist ever to covet the open class piano competition trophy 3 times consecutively. In his honour, there is a Sean Bartholomew trophy for today’s aspiring young pianists. Adrian, his preferred name, was a child classical pianist prodigy turned pop artist. His vast experience in all genres of music is immediately apparent 10 mins into any of his performances. From Chopin to Supertramp to Damien Marley, to Earth Wind and Fire, to Calypso/Soca, the music of his culture. All authentically reproduced from his voice and fingers because all of it comes from deep within his teenaged roots. Though he successfully lead a Marley tribute band in the US Midwest, his favourite band is The Police - to give you an idea of his range of preference. He once wrote his Grammy Award speech at 16 years old thanking Sting for his inspiration. There’s something for everyone at an Adrian Bartholomew show and it’s always exhilarating!
